With the introduction of the first serial Leica Type I (Modell A) in 1925 the Leica success
story was born. An entire mechanical Full Format camera in the size of a today electronic
premium compact camera entered the market. Before 1931 the lenses (mostly 50mm -
Anastigmat - Elmax - Elmar) where firmly fixed to the camera body
