Namibia (NA)
The “almost” empty country
Namibia is a desert land with 2M people living on a surface of 800 000 km2. It’s
marked by the Namib in the west and the Kalahari in the east. A dry highland (avg.
1700 masl) separates the 2 deserts. Major indigenous settlement started only in the
17th century. Late 19th century the Germans brought the country under their
control. After WW1 it became British/SA. Namibia became independent in 1990.
