The centre of ancient Inca civilization

The country has a costal, a highland and a rain forest area. The highland is the

cradle of Inca civilisation who managed to adapt to the demanding environment

up to 5000masl. The highly organized Inca system allowed to build official

infrastructure (buildings/temples/roads) in an outstanding quality. This heritage

is well preserved. Today’s cities are dominated by colonial Spanish architecture

often constructed on old Inca foundations/walls.
