Leica Lenses - A legacy
Test set up - mechanical findings Casing: Leica M-P (Type 240) casing on tripod - ISO 100 - Electronic Lens correction - Sharpness, saturation, contrast, whit balance correction standard - Live View for focusing each lens individual in picture centre in about 300m distance. Lenses: 35mm: Summaron LTM* 1958 - Summilux M 1987 - Summicron M 2011 50mm: Elmar LTM* 1932 - Summitar LTM* 1948 - Summicron LTM* 1958 - Summicron M 2002 90mm: Elmarit LTM* 1958 (5 internal lenses) - Elmarit M 1997 (4 internal lenses) *with Leitz adapter LTM --> M. The split image finder worked also with the LTM lenses within the normal tolerances surprisingly accurate. Photos are taken with various apertures. No correction in Photoshop except center brightness for better comparison. Assume that the electronic lens correction of the Type 240 had some influence on the vignetting. As always the same correction per focal length was applied relative vignetting is compared. Same can be said about the camera standard correction on sharpness, saturation and contrast.
