View finder or reflex camera ?
A view on Leica M9 and Nikon D800 (4/4) As long as pictures aren’t cropped the 35 Mpixel sensor is overdone. But it gives comfort for situations with long lenses which can never be long enough for certain subjects (fauna). Surprisingly higher ISO works far up without visible grain what isn't to expect from such a high pixel sensor. The memory space needed on the computer is of course proportional higher but with the today's storage technology it isn’t a real issue. This leads to the question what type of camera shall be used for what. This has a lot to do with personal preference. My tendency is to work with the M9 for the creative photographic challenge in the 28mm to 90mm range. I can have the M9 with a 35mm lens everywhere with me. With the D800 I follow more the documentary route. Tele and macro situations or fast timing ask clearly for the reflex camera.
